Halong Bay Cruise Boat

Our Cruise Boat.

The owner/operator family lives aboard. It was low season so the two of us are the only passengers, but we have the family of seven for company. The youngsters are a bit of fun, but the four adults over-service us to the point that it gets a bit tiresome saying I don't need another cold beer, etc...

Nevertheless, Halong Bay is a fascinating and beautiful place, and worth a long drive in the country from Hanoi next time you are there.

Being too stingy to pay the subscription, I have decided to archive this site to another web-site I have established in Picassa...as images disappear from here, they will reappear on Picassa along with my narrative and any comments and responses that have been posted to this site.

* Archive #1 ...
Southern Laos [28 images]
* Archive #2 ...
Myanmar-Yangon [20 images]
* Archive #3 ... Northern Vietnam [xx images]

I have another  Shutterchance site, for which I do pay the subscription, and it contains more than 1200 daily images, all taken in Thailand where I live.

Also, here is my
main website which contains thousands of images, hundreds of short stories, a few videos and blogs.

Man! Can you imagine growing up on a boat like that! So, Ray, how long was your cruise? I do like how you document your travels like this.
all-my-world: Sounds like a fabulous way to spend a childhood, Ginnie, but I suppose the kids get bored from time to time.

We were on a day-trip, due to very tight scheduling, but I would have been happy to spend 2 or 3 days on the boat cruising about the islands.
What a fine looking boat Ray, it sounds like you had a good trip, I do hope you were sober enough to drive later on.
all-my-world: If I drink then I don't drive, Brian...on this occasion all was well, as I had hired a car with driver for the trip to and from Halong Bay from Hanoi.

All the SE Asian countries seem to have good quality local beers...the climate is conducive to a thirst...could be dangerous if you were not self-disciplined. [grin]
